Ballet - Melody Movement 2-4 years

Melody Movement introduces children to dance using the natural actions of the body such as running, hopping, skipping and galloping. It is structured to aid children’s physical development, coordination, spatial awareness, sensory development, creativity and self-expression. Melody Movement also introduces children to other learning skills such as counting, colour and shape recognition, vocabulary and language skills. Milligan Bear is Melody Bear’s best friend. He has his own songs, music, stories and dance themes for boys who love to dance in addition to his own stickers and medals!

Ballet - 4 years plus

From when children start school they are invited to join our ISTD exam classes. Exams are taken whenever a group of children are ready (this may vary from child to child). Exams start at Primary level and run right through to advanced vocational exams. As a guide, I normally start 4-5 year olds in Pre-Primary, 6-7 year olds in Primary, 8-9 year olds in Grade 1 and after this age children are placed in a class based on their ability rather than age. The exam syllabus is the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and exams from Grade 1 upwards count towards UCAS points on University applications. If you are looking for a class not listed in our timetable please contact Katie to see if anything can be arranged.
